The York County Rail Trail Authority, after conducting studies in 2003 and 2009 determined the ownership of the non-defunct “Hanover Fast Line” trolley rail line and recognized the feasibility of utilizing this corridor for a portion of their trail development to serve the Hanover/Spring Grove area.

Funding was acquired from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources for purchase of materials, right-of-ways and constructed with the Jackson Township Public Works Crew labor to construct Phase 1 beginning in Spring Grove Borough traveling east to the trail head located on Hershey Road at the Township’s wastewater treatment plant. Construction of Phase Two was completed in 2013 by the Public Works Crew that begins at the Trail Head at the wastewater Treatment Plant and travels east approximately one mile ending at Martin Road.

In early 2009 a Citizens Advisory committee was created, at the direction of the Board of Supervisors, to determine the recreational needs in our fast growing community. After several months of community input and the assistance of JMT Consultants, a recommendation for a Neighborhood Park in the Jackson Heights Development area and a larger Community Park that will offer various opportunities including multiple athletic fields was given to the Board of Supervisors for consideration. A grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources was awarded to the Township in 2009. This park was constructed with a combination of grant dollars, developer recreation fees paid to the Township, the Township Pubic Works Crew labor and volunteer efforts from the community. The park was completed in 2011 and a ribbon cutting ceremony was held in the spring of 2012.

In 2018 the front 9 starting converting to a community park with the stream restoration project of the creek that flowed through the front 9.  The back 9 will remain open for play.  Please continue to enjoy golf on the back 9.

The longest tee the back 9 plays to 2,041 yards at a par of 32.

The back nine gives you the opportunity to use all your clubs since it includes 5 par 4’s ranging in length from 265 yards to 373 yards. The terrain on the back nine is more of a gentle sloping character.

Little Creek is a great place for the family to enjoy the sport of Golf. Unlike larger public and private courses, Little Creek offers a slower pace where teaching and learning are emphasized.
